CINI Smart City University Challenge: What is it?
The CINI Smart City University Challenge is a University challenge organized by the University of L'Aquila and the CINI smart Cities and Communities Laboratory (https://www.consorzio-cini.it/index.php/en/national-laboratories/laboratorio-smart-cities) and co-located with the ICPE 2017 conference (icpe2017.spec.org).
The list of participating institutions follows below. Bachelor, Master, and PhD students from those Universities are invited to participate.

The challenge comprises two phases:
Phase 1
Smart City themes are assigned to the participating Universities, member of the CINI Smart Cities and Communities laboratory. Each University covers a specific smart city theme. Students compete locally, and a winner team is selected for each University.
Phase 2
The winning teams are invited to synthesize a complex smart city service based on the services realized by each team. Students will meet in L'Aquila in April 2017 to complete the integration stage. A winning team will be selected and will be announced during the ICPE conference. The participation is free.
